Inspiration[]

I came up with the idea of Ryuka Uchiha when learning about the Uchiha clan. Based on the information I heard, the Uchiha were very arrogant, believing that their Kekkei Genkai was the strongest in the shinobi world. I came up with this character to create a "spot in the arrogance".

Ryuka mirrors my personality in most ways:

  • He is sarcastic and has good humor, even acting a little crazy.
  • He is able to be serious, although sometimes not liking it.
  • He has no regard for status, and treats mostly everyone as equals.

Background[]

Ryuka's childhood seemed like any other. He was born without any close siblings to relate with. He lived with his mother and father Iruna and Kazuno, both of them good-natured and kind-hearted to him. At age four, however, his father, in order to activate his son's Sharingan, threw a kunai, scraping his cheek and scaring Ryuka. He had later apologized for the incident, and it was quickly forgotten.

At age seven, Ryuka was about to learn about the Sharingan thanks to his father's teachings, evolving it to its two-tome state in each eye. He trained daily with Kazuno, his mother observing occasionally. If Ryuka pushed himself too hard, his mother would scold him, and carry him inside to his bed. However, she never discouraged the training, for she was a member of the Konoha Military Police as well.

His scores at the academy were as high as Sasuke Uchiha's, and he cooperated well with and was nice to his fellow students, despite some traits he disliked. For example, Ino Yamanaka tended to be a bit bossy. One incident at the playground, he was sitting on the swing when Ino came to him and ordered him off because she wanted to swing. He refused, teasingly calling her a "blondie",infuriating her a bit. Her friends, Shikamaru Nara and Choji Akimichi stepped in for fear of Ino "beating Ryuka to a pulp".

The Uchiha Massacre initiated when Ryuka was nine years old. He had been sitting with his parents when a figure (later revealed to be Itachi Uchiha had suddenly appeared into the room. Before Ryuka's parents could do anything, he killed them via a kunai to the throat. He was about to kill Ryuka, but upon seeing his scared face, it reminded him of his brother Sasuke, and instead spared him, walking away. Ryuka, due to the overwhelming emotion of seeing his parents killed, passed out, unconscious.

Personality[]

Only the Sandaime Hokage and Ryuka's teachers knew about his relativity to the Uchiha clan. For unknown reasons, Ryuka wished to keep his past life a secret, and under some point of time, changed his last name to Asano, leading everyone to believe he was from the unknowingly deceased Asano clan. However, he holds disgust for much of the Uchiha clan and Hyuga clan, for he both as "arrogant stains on the face of Konoha, flaunting their own kekkei genkai as a trophy".

He is a kind, teasing, and joking person. He has strong loyalty and bravery, willing to put his life on the line for what he values. In serious situations, he rarely lets extreme emotion get in the way, although slipping a few times. When Kyashi defected, Ryuka was put into a mild depression. When he was forced to fight against the Kyubi-controlled Sora, he was overwhelmed with emotion. He is also determined, promising to himself to bring Kyashi back by any means neccessary. He shows he has no regard for status when he fixed two ANBU who were about to apprehend both him and Sora with a stare, trapping them in a genjutsu filled with killer intent.

Later on, he begins to show much of a darker personality. He retains most of his former characteristics, but begins to get more serious and level-headed throughout Part III. He shows that he is also willing to push away his kindness in order to achieve personal goals when he uses Tsukuyomi to interrogate a Kirigakure missing-nin named Jim for information about Madara Uchiha and Kyashi's whereabouts.

Part 1[]

Appearance[]

Ryuka, throughout Part 1, wears a black shirt and black shorts. He is mostly seen wearing his Konoha forehead protector.

Anko's Pre-Test[]

Before their eventual coming-together, Anko devises a test of her own. Hearing about Ryuka's, Kyahi's, and Keira's celebration via a campfire in the woods at night, she had Chunin Izumo Kamikuzi disguise himself as a thief to attack the three. Proving to be a bit powerful for them at first, the three resign to use teamwork in order to beat Izumo, and doing so successfully by using their own version of the Naruto's Naruto Rendan move. However, he escapes, but reports to Anko that they had passed the "test", which satisfies her.

Team 6[]

Ryuka, Kyashi, and Keira are assigned to Anko. Again, after introductions, she devises a test; if one of them is able to tap her Konoha headband with a kunai, then they pass. The test was to emphasize teamwork. They pass this test also with flying colors; Kyashi first uses her kunai to scratch Anko's arm, wiping it on her fingers, in an all-out attack. Anko beats them easily, and they retreat. Soon after, Ryuka encounters Anko himself to lead her thinking off to believe that they weren't using teamwork. After forcing her to use a replacement jutsu, she is frozen by Kyashi, who activates her bloodline, careful of not crushing Anko. Keira then confidently strides up and taps Anko's headband with his kunai.

Land of Fire[]

Team 6 were assigned to protect the head monk Chiriku of the Fire Temple. Once there, temple monks explain the situation: A team of missing-nin from the village Amegakure, now known as bounty hunters, are after Chiriku's head. The four stay for a few days as guests. In the time, Anko taught the three Genin a few lessons about chakra control by walking on trees.

On one of their training breaks and on one of his walks, Ryuka spotted Sora sitting on a tree branch in the forest, quietly humming to himself. He surprises Sora by "teleporting" himself to the tree branch and shouting "Hi!", nearly knocking Sora off. After a few indignant protests from Sora, Ryuka asks why is Sora out here all alone. Sora replies that he has no friends to talk to, and he hates the monks. This surprised Ryuka since Sora was one of them, but he chose not to question it. After a conversation, Ryuka says farewell to Sora and leaves to join Keira and Kyashi.

As the days passed, Ryuka and Sora began to be more and more as close friends. Eventually, Sora told him of why he hated the monks: He was a Pseudo-Jinchüriki. At one point, he went berserk and destroyed the Fire Temple, and after its re-building, the monks seemed to loathe Sora. They hated his abilities, as did he. As Sora explained, Ryuka was reminded of Naruto, and he sympathized for Sora.

Five days later, the five bandits arrived at the Fire Temple. Despite the monks' preparations, many of them were killed easily. Eventually, they confronted Anko and her team, supported by a team of monks, along with Sora, who played the role of an observer. However, despite their best attacks, the bandits could easily counter their blows, and soon Team 6 was on the brink of defeat. But then Chiriku intervenes, using the Amida's 1000-arm Death Embrace technique, killing them. Anko was shocked at how powerful his technique was, speculating that it was due to possibly high experience, and that they were most likely attacked before.

After the Rain team are defeated, Team 6 was about to leave. Ryuka said a sincere farewell to Sora, saying that he would be back to visit him. Sora smiles, and bids him good-bye as well.

Meeting Indo and Chunin Exams[]

Before the Chunin Exams, Ryuka introduces himself to two ninja, Rock Lee and Indo Huiyo. But before Ryuka can state his own name, another ninja named Otonami Sokudo speeds into the group, intervening and greeting Indo as if he had known him. After a few words, Otonami walks off, leaving Indo annoyed and Ryuka confused. After a few more words between Ryuka and Indo, the three sound nin Dosu, Kin, and Zaku appear, with Dosu insulting both Lee and Ryuka, to which Ryuka responds by making fun of both the bandages on Dosu's face and his sound emitters, calling them "bracelets". However, Dosu retorts by pointing about Indo's loyalty, due to the fact that Indo's origin is Otogakure. The three leave, thinking that Indo knew about Orochimaru, which he does not.

In the first part of the exam, Ryuka sat in the back row, using his Sharingan to copy the movement of a student in front of him, effectively copying his answers. He passes, along with both of his teammates.

In the second part of the exam, Ryuka splits from his group in order to scout the area for enemy teams. Soon after, he is spotted by Neji Hyuga and is told to come out. Neji, under the impression that Ryuka was going to attack, readied himself, but Ryuka warns him that if they both fought, it would end up at a draw. After a short conversation, Rukya jumps off, not noticing the hidden Team 10. When they spot a fallen Team 7, along with an incapacitated Lee, but only watch as the battle takes place. When the Sound-nin retreat due to Sasuke's Curse Seal awakening, Ryuka waits, and without his team's approval, he attacks them and kills them easily, much to the disapproval of Kyashi and Keira.

Due to Naruto's outburst in the first exam part, as well as a skilled group of candidates after that point, 21 people make it to the third part of the exam. Preliminary rounds were held to cut the remaining number in half. Ryuka was paired up against Shino, Kyashi was against Shikamaru, and Keira was fighting Choji. Ryuka was able to beat Shino using his fire technique to drive the swarming bugs back, disabling most of his attacks. Keira beat Choji easily, using his bloodline Shadow Palm to disable him. Kyashi, however, despite her quickness and excellence in taijitsu, was caught in Shikamaru's Neck Bind Technique and knocked unconscious due to lack of oxygen. Both teammates cheer her up by encouraging words.

In the final rounds, Ryuka's teammates hang back, while Ryuka and Anko themselves observes the battles in order to get more information about his opponents. When Naruto used the Nine Tailed Fox's chakra against Neji, he knew what it was and shocked. He later informed his teammates discretly before Sasuke's fight against Gaara. But they didn't show hostility towards him for it. Besides, Kyashi was told ahead of time by Kyosuke.

Destruction of Konoha[]

When the attack on Konoha by Sound and Sand forces began, Team 6, minus Kyashi, assisted in the defense. After the attack and enemy plans were assessed, Konoha forces repelled and/or killed all enemy shinobi, but Hiruzen Sarutobi was killed in the battle. They were present at his funeral.

Sasuke's Defection[]

Team 6 was training with Anko when they heard of Sasuke's defection. Ryuka was angered, for he believed Sasuke was disgracing the Uchiha Clan even more by training with Konoha's enemy. But Kyashi was broken-hearted, having grown an attachment to the Uchiha. Seeing her despair, Ryuka promises to bring him back, to which she replies, "I'm counting on you, Ryuka-kun."

Ryuka's Training[]

Ryuka, wishing to become stronger, asked Kakashi Hatake for a position in apprenticeship. Kakashi, although taken back, saw mild determination in his eyes and gave in. In the two-year timeskip, Kakashi taught Ryuka more abilities about the Sharingan, eventually helping him evolve it to the three-tomoe state. During pre-shippuden, Ryuka had also gotten his hands on a strong sword, nicknamed Chijira, and was able to learn sword skills. It is unknown how he had done so.

During Ryuka's training, Keira and Kyashi hone their own skills and abilities, eventually being seen by the Hokage. They are promoted to Chunin, meaning Anko was no longer their sensei, but an equal ninja now.

Part 2[]

Meeting with Sasuke[]

Ryuka was temporarily assigned to Team 6, led by the ANBU ninja Yamato, on a mission to retrieve Sasuke. Meeting Sai for the first time, he was annoyed at his social-less personality. Sai immediately labels him a "red-eyed pussy", and Ryuka replies with his own insult, "mid-driff boy".

The meeting with Kabuto Yakushi didn't go as planned, for Orochimaru himself showed up before the team could get the needed information. When Orochimaru brought up the subject of Sasuke, Naruto went into a rage, slipping from the one-tails transformation into the three-tails transformation. Ryuka winced, commenting that "the very air hurts" due to the immense power.

When Naruto transformed into the four-tail state and fought Orochimaru, Ryuka, Sakura, Yamato, and Kabuto watched from the sidelines. Ryuka was astonished at the mere power that Naruto was displaying with only four tails. At one point, Naruto charged at concentrated chakra ball and fired it at Orochimaru, seemingly killing him. However Orochimaru simply used his snake like body to expand his neck and stabbing Naruto in the chest with his Kusanagi Sword, which sent Naruto back towards the bridge, nearly crushing Ryuka, but didn't go through his chakra shield. Kabuto mentioned to both Ryuka and Sakura that Naruto was like this because of his desire to save Sasuke. Ryuka drew his sword to defend himself from Naruto's soon-to-be attack, but Sakura, in tears, runs at Naruto to try to talk some sense into him. However, struck down by one of Naruto's chakra tails, she was knocked down and vulnerable. Yamato trapped the monstrous form of Naruto in wood. When Yamato surpressed the Kyuubi's chakra, Kabuto healed Sakura's injured arm, making Ryuka question this. Kabuto merely answered that they could help defeat Akatsuki, which was the same thing both Konoha and Oto wanted. Naruto was returned to normal, but much of his skin was peeled off from the oppressive chakra. As Sakura healed him, Ryuka ran off, looking for Sai, but spotted him, along with Orochimaru and Kabuto, as they headed off together in the direction of Orochimaru's hideout.

When the remainder of the team broke into Orochimaru's hideout, Ryuka split off from them, searching for Sasuke. To his surprise, he found Sasuke walking out of the hideout. Ryuka actvated his Sharingan, suprising Sasuke. They had a short conversation; Sasuke questioned the reasons why he was here, for he wasn't a part of Team 7. Ryuka explained that he was to bring Sasuke back. He also added that he was insulting the Uchiha clan, mildly angering Sasuke, who blew up the base.

After hearing the explosion, Naruto, Sakura, and Yamato followed it, leading to the two Uchiha. Naruto and Sakura looked upon Sasuke with surprise, although Sasuke did not return it. Then they took one look at Ryuka's Sharingan, and were stunned. Ryuka simply pulled out his sword and pointing it at Sasuke revealing to him that he didn't care about his past bonds with his team, and re-instated that he only wanted to bring him back to save the Uchiha clan from disgrace. Sasuke then proceeded to attack Ryuka with his sword of Kusanagi.

The two seemed evenly matched in kenjutsu. None of the Uchihas used techniques against one another for different reasons; Ryuka didn't wish to harm Sasuke, and Sasuke wanted to test Ryuka's strength. The only exception was Ryuka using a combination of Shadow of the Dancing Leaf and Peregrine Falcon Drop on Sasuke, who countered it with a substitution jutsu. Then, Ryuka got under Sasuke's guard, kicking him in the face and sending him away, allowing Yamato to trap him in wood. Sasuke, although, escapes, saying he is tired of Konoha, and was about to attack with the technique Kirin. Ryuka prepared his own attack, Elemental Sword: Godstrike. But before the seemingly destructive attacks could execute, Orochimaru and Kabuto, along with the newly incarcerated Sachi Urami intervened, insisting that the Konoha-nin were important to taking out Akatsuki. After Sasuke's "approval", the three disappear. Naruto looked on and fell to his knees in tears. Sakura, although tears were streaming down her own face, told Naruto that she would become stronger along with him, bringing him out of his sudden stage of depression.

Ryuka sheathed his sword, and after showing both Naruto and Sakura mild sympathy, he was about to leave before Yamato stopped him, questioning about his Sharingan. Reluctantly, Ryuka explained how he had survived the massacre due to Itachi sparing him, although he still didn't know why. Naruto and Sakura expressed their own sympathy for him, but Ryuka shrugged it off, simply saying he's no kid anymore.

Friends[]

Ryuka, upon seeing the transformed Sora.

Team Shadow assists Team Yamato on a mission to the Fire Temple. After seeing Sora again (who was battling with Naruto before Chiriku and Yamato stopped them) Ryuka has a cheerful reunion with him, and explains to the confused Team Yamato of Team 6's previous mission. However, he doesn't get along well with Naruto, but Ryuka ignores it. Eventually, the two also become friends.

Later on, Ryuka accompanies Sora as he looks for Asuma, ending up following him to the recently captured Danzo's interrogation. There, they find out Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane plan to kill Sora. But before Tsunade can make a decision, they are both caught by ANBU members hiding in the ceiling. However, Ryuka actvates his Sharingan and traps them in a genjutsu filled with killing intent to prevent them apprehending him. After they are released, the two are brought down. Enraged, Sora yells at Tsunade asking her why would she kill him. He then goes on by saying that they are just like the fire temple monks. He looks at Yamato asking him, "are these what you call comrades?" He then changes his view towards Asuma and confronts him, accusing him of killing his father, which Asuma confirms. Sora attacks Asuma, his arm once again assuming a demonic form, despite Ryuka's attempts to intervene. While he blows Asuma outside, he is unable to maintain it for long, and falters.

He is attacked by a ROOT member, but Naruto shields him from the shuriken, being injured in the process. Sora then approaches Furido, who says that he must kill Asuma and Tsunade to avenge his father and consolidate the "two kings" (the Feudal Lord and the Hokage) into a single leader by eliminating the Hokage.

Later on, during Kazuma's attack on Konoha, Ryuka breaks off from the defensive lines due to a massive chakra surge he felt and follows it, leading him to the now Three-Tailed Sora, along with Naruto, Asuma, and Kazuma. After a short confrontation, Team 10 and Team Shadow, along with Kiba and Lee, arrive.

Ryuka and Sora have a much more serious battle. Sora had the upper hand, however, and nearly overwhelmed Ryuka, even with the aid of his fully mature Sharingan. Another fact prohibited Ryuka from fighting to his fullest potential: He was unable to bring harm upon his friend, and his emotions slowly overwhelmed him. When Sora grabbed Ryuka's neck, proceeding to crush his throat, Ryuka's Emotional Mangekyo Sharingan awakens, and he blasts Sora back with Amaterasu, accepting the fact that he had to defeat Sora. But the attack caused Sora to slip into the four-tails form, and Ryuka was exahusted. However, Kyashi steps in, taking over the battle.

Ryuka's role turned into that of an observer, as he watched Kyashi gain the upper hand against Sora, eventually defeating him with a smashing toss to the ground and dissipating his chakra shield, bringing him back to consciousness.

Kyashi's Defection[]

Kyashi, Ryuka, and Keira encountered Itachi and Kisame when heading back to Konoha after a mission. But they were easily defeated by the S-Class ninja. Itachi then mentioned to Kyashi that Akatsuki had been keeping tabs on Sachi, which shocks her. He then offers her a position in Akatsuki, with Kisame raising an eyebrow in question. Kyashi is hesitant to answer, despite the protests Ryuka and Keira. Itachi then says to think about it, as he and Kisame disappeared, leaving the incapacitated team to recover.

At the night, Kyashi considers the proposal. She thinks back to her friends, and almost considers staying. However, the image of her sister appeared in her mind as well, and in the end, she ultimately decides her defection. Packing a few supervisions, she headed out of the village, only to be stopped by Anko Mitarashi. However, she receives no resistance, only a warning: "The next time we meet, kid, we'll be enemies." Anko lets her leave.

Ryuka is shocked and almost sent into a depression when hearing about Kyashi's decision, but stops himself. Keira too was shocked, but reassured Ryuka that they would find her.

Hidan and Kakuzu[]

Ryuka, after hearing of Hidan's and Kakuzu's defeat, along with Kyashi's retreat, pushed aside his grieving. Realizing that this must be what Naruto felt about Sasuke, he resolved to bring Kyashi back, along even if it meant by force.

Revival: Ryuka vs Madara[]

Ryuka and Keira were assigned to infiltrate Amegakure to locate the leader of the Akatsuki. Unfortunately, he had already started his invasion on Konohagakure, and the two teammates could not reach them in time, nor did they know about his attack. After scouting the situation, they realized the leader, Pein, was not at Amegakure, and start to head back for Konoha. Unfortunately, they are caught by Madara Uchiha. Before either of them could do anything, he uses quick speed to appear in front of Keira and stab him in the heart, killing him. Ryuka, angered, rushes at Madara with his Raikiri attack, which Madara dodges.

They have a short fight. No matter what attack Ryuka uses, it doesn't affect Madara, as he is able to recover and shrug them off. As Ryuka continues to attack furiously, Madara says that he is weak, and that Ryun Uchiha would be disgusted to see his presence. At the mention of another Uchiha's name, Ryuka stops attacking, and stutteringly says, "Another Uchiha.... alive?" Then Madara reveals the existance of the Uchiha Clan II, explaining that Ryun was able to revive the clan long after the Uchiha Clan Massacre. He then, after a mocking farewell, disappears, leaving Ryuka to fight his way through several Rain ninja to escape Amegakure.

Returning to Konoha, he finds half of it destroyed and in ruins. Bodies scatter the streets. Shocked, he walks through the wreckage to find one of Pein's bodies, realizing what happened. He is soon greeted by Konoha-nin, who explain what had happened. They also tell him that there are survivors, including Most of the Konoha 11, their Senseis, and the Hokage Tsunade.

A day later, he helps in the re-building of Konoha. To himself, he resolved to get Kyashi back and to find Ryun, in the hopes of confirming the existance of another Uchiha clan, and in the hopes that Ryun could train him.

Abilities[]

Due to his father's training, Ryuka's Sharingan was awakened and evolved to the two-tomoe state. He mostly uses its ability to predict movements, and hardly to copy other techniques. He learned most of the main Uchiha fire techniques, even inventing his own: Fire Release: Inferno Tornado. His taijutsu, stamina, and reaction rate are excellent due to his long training times.

When in battle, Ryuka is a keen analyst, often observing his opponent's attacks and looking for ways to defeat them. He can use fast hand seals in order to execute jutsu before he gets attacked. This allows him to initiate several jutsu quickly before the enemy has a chance to recover and go on the offensive.

During Kakashi's training, Ryuka's Sharingan evolved to its final three-tomoe level, enabling him to create a new technique: Demonic Illusion: Sharingan's Mirror. Using this jutsu, he can deflect powerful jutsu and attacks in cost for very little chakra. His speed increased, rivaling even that of the level of Rock Lee's speed. At one point, Ryuka was taught the technique Chidori, but he also created a new technique Fire Release: Raikiri by adding his own element fire to the technique instead of lightning.

During Ryun's training, Ryuka learned of his excellent chakra control and was taught to be able to utilize it. Ryuka had theorized that since he was able to copy Ryun's speed and that he seemed to move as fast as Otonami, his speed increased to that of Otonami's, although that has yet to be proven. He was also taught the technique Raitama and given some of Ryun's power, awakening his kekkei genkai, the Kagirinaigan.
